Nicolette Blount

Southern California native and Chickasaw tribe member, Nicolette Blount, is a songwriter, performer, writer and producer who has traveled the globe singing and performing. Her performing career started at a young age when she began singing professionally with the Southern California Girls Choir in 5th grade. She later had the honor of singing at Carnegie Hall and has performed in two operas, Tosca and Turandot with the Palm Springs and Riverside Civic Operas. She has also been heard on numerous T.V. and Radio programs in California and Hawaii. While living in Hawaii, Nicolette won awards in NATS competitions two years in a row and toured the Hawaiian Islands with the Kanikapila Singers dancing hula and singing. Nicolette studied voice under Marilyn Kim, Dr. Willian Chunestudy and Chariya Bissonette, who has sung with Disney and many notable musicians including Sir Elton John. Nicolette studied acting under Dr. Paul Cravath. She continues to perform in musical theatre with some of her favorite roles being in Annie (Ms. Hannigan) and Mary Poppins (Ms. Andrews) among others.

Nicolette's songwriting started at a young age. She wrote and recorded her first solo album called Conversations in 2005 in Hawaii. Nicolette's recent work and collaboration is on the book, lyrics, and music for Savage the Musical, a musical about her Chickasaw Great Grandma, Wanda Savage (currently in development). Savage tells the story of an indigenous mother who rose above racism, abuse, and misogyny to make a name for herself. Savage the Musical has received rave reviews from those in the industry for its music (currently streaming) and its two sold out concerts at the 2019 New York Music Festival. In addition to cowriting Savage, Nicolette's lead vocals can be heard on Savage's Take My Shot and Warrior. She sang backups on 6 of the 7 songs on their recent EP.
